What Medicare Supplement Plans Does Puritan Life Offer?

Puritan Life focuses on offering the most popular plans in the Medigap range. All Medigap insurers must offer Plan A as per CMS guidelines.

What Medicare Supplement Plans Does Puritan Life OfferPlan A – Basic benefits, but no coverage for the Part A deductible. An entry-level plan for low-income seniors.

Plan F – The most comprehensive coverage available from any Medigap plan. However, it’s no longer available to non-qualifying Medigap applicants. It’s a good choice for beneficiaries who want “first-dollar coverage.” You don’t pay any Medicare expenses other than your monthly Medigap premiums.

Plan G – Near-comprehensive coverage is a good choice for people who don’t qualify for Plan F. The only thing it doesn’t cover is the Medicare Part B deductible.

Plan N – A policy requiring copayments of $20 at the doctor’s office and $50 at the emergency room when not admitted into inpatient care at the hospital. There’s no coverage for Medicare Part B excess charges incurred when visiting practitioners who charge more than Medicare-approved rates. However, you get low monthly premiums.

Puritan Life Medicare Supplement Plans – Benefits & Coverage

The CMS is a federal agency regulating the Medigap industry. This organization ensures all Medigap providers offer the same standardized benefits in their Medigap range. So, if you buy a Medigap plan from Puritan Life, it comes with the same Medicare Part A & B benefits as a plan from any provider.

All Medigap plans offer the following benefits for Original Medicare Parts A & B.

  • Part A coinsurance and hospital costs for up to 365 days after using up Medicare benefits.
  • Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment.
  • Part B coinsurance or copayment.
  • Blood transfusion costs for the first three pints of blood.

Plans F*, G, and N offer additional Medicare Parts A & B benefits.

Puritan Life Medicare Supplement Plans – Benefits & Coverage - Plan F, G, N

*Plan F is being phased out due to its Medicare Part B deductible coverage. Seniors eligible for Medicare after January 1, 2020, cannot enroll in Plan F. However, if you’re eligible for Medicare before this date and have yet to enroll in a Medigap plan, you still qualify for Plan F. However, Puritan Life may require you to undergo medical underwriting before issuing you a Plan F policy.

In some cases, you qualify for guaranteed issue rights to Plan F, and Puritan Life may not request you to endure medical underwriting for your Plan F policy. Our team of Medigap experts can assist you with understanding your position and if guaranteed issue rights apply to you.

What Puritan Life Medicare Supplement Plans Don't Cover
