Medigap Plan G in Texas

Medigap Plan G is by far the most popular Medicare Supplement Plan in Texas for people new to Medicare. This is because it has terrific coverage and just one small deductible to pay.

With Medigap Plan G you only have one out-of-pocket expense each year, and that is the Medicare Part B deductible. This deductible was $233 in 2022.

So once you pay the first $233 of your medical bills, Medicare Part B pays 80% and Plan G pays the rest. Up to no limit.

Medigap Plan N in Texas

Another plan that is rising in popularity in Texas is Medigap plan N. Medigap Plan N has lower premiums than Plan G, and almost the same coverage with some small differences.

On Medigap Plan N, you still pay the annual Medicare Part B deductible just as you do with Plan G. After that, you might have some additional costs such as:

  • Up to a $20 co-pay for doctor’s visits (telehealth visits don’t apply)
  • A $50 co-pay if you visit the emergency room and you’re not admitted (Urgent care visits don’t apply)
  • Part B excess charges not covered – These are extremely rare
