MA Medicare Supplement Core

The Core plan has the most basic benefits of the three plans available from Tufts in Massachusetts. It is similar in structure to Medigap Plan A, offering Medicare Part A benefits and coinsurance for Medicare Part B services. Beneficiaries also get an additional 60 days of inpatient mental healthcare and a few mandated tests in Massachusetts.

  • The Core plan pays $400 daily for days 61-90 of each benefit period and $800 for days 91-150 in 2023.

  • Coverage for the first three pints of blood in transfusions under Medicare Part A.

MA Medicare Supplement 1

Supplement Plan 1 from Tufts, offers beneficiaries a higher level of coverage than the Core plan. It’s similar to Medigap Plans C & F and includes coverage for the Medicare Part B deductible of $226 in 2023. However, like Medigap Plans C & F, seniors eligible for Supplement Plan 1 after January 1, 2020, don’t qualify for the plan. Supplement Plan 1 offers the following benefits.

Supplement 1A is similar to Medigap Plan G. The only thing it doesn’t cover that Supplement Plan 1 does is the Medicare Part B deductible. You get the following benefits with this plan.

What Tufts Medicare Supplement Plans Don't Cover

Like the lettered Medigap plans available in other states, Tufts Medicare supplement plans don’t offer coverage for healthcare expenses not covered by Original Medicare Parts A & B.
