Mutual of Omaha offers its “Mutually Well” program, giving you access to discounts on wellness products and services, gym memberships, and an app to track fitness activities. You also get discounts on vision, hearing, and dental services using its in-network providers. Mutual of Omaha also offers the best household discount in the Medigap industry, with up to a 12% saving on additional plans.
Humana serves 49 states with Medigap plans. The company sticks to offering the most popular Medigap plans. You have options for Plans A, F, G, N, and high-deductible plans F & G. Humana offers a mid-priced option for Medigap plans, and it’s the lowest-cost provider for certain plans in specific states.
Humana also provides beneficiaries with excellent perks. You get access to discounts on a range of OTC supplements and medications, discounted gym memberships through the SilverSneakers program, and a 6% discount for enrolling in your Medigap plan through its online portal (some states don’t qualify for online enrollment).
Cigna offers Medigap plans in 48 states. It’s also one of the best options for plans in many states, with the most affordable rates. Cigna only offers its members plans A, F, G, & N. Cigna offers a discount rewards program for fitness and nutrition programs and discounted rates on wellness products, supplements, and OTC medications. With its partner network, you also get discounted rates on hearing and vision services. Cigna also offers standalone plans for dental and drug coverage.
UnitedHealthcare offers Medigap plans through its subsidiary, AARP. UHC is consistently among the most affordable providers of Medigap policies in all 50 states. UHC offers Plans A, B, G, F, K, L, & N, sticking to the most popular options for its clients.
The only drawback is that you need to be an AARP member to sign up for Medigap policies with the company.
UHCs also offer Medigap members access to its “Renew Active” discount program for free gym memberships. The “Wellness +” program provides members discounts on OTC medications, supplements, and vision, dental, and hearing services.
It’s one of the best choices for extra perks, and you get a good household discount and discounts for paying premiums via electronic funds transfer.
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Blue Cross Blue Shield is a collective of 34 companies operating under the BCBS banner. They offer some of the best rates in the country in selected areas. However, in some areas, they might be a mid-range pricing provider. They offer plans in all 50 states, and a comprehensive selection, with Plans A, B, D, G, F, K, L, M, & N available in most locations. They all have high-deductible Plans F & G available in select states.
Blue Cross Blue Shield also offers the “Plan G+” policy in select states, with Plan G+. You get dental, hearing, and vision coverage for around $22 extra per month over the standard Plan G rate.
