Are you enrolled in Original Medicare Parts A & B?
If so, you’ve probably realized these policies only cover 80% of expenses relating to your benefits. You’re responsible for covering the remaining costs out-of-pocket.
Many seniors don’t realize Medicare doesn’t cover everything, leading to a shock when you receive a heavy bill for medical services you thought were covered.
A Medigap plan partially or fully covers your out-of-pocket expenses relating to Medicare Part A & B benefits.
Private insurers, like Loyal American, offer Medigap plans, and you can enroll in their Medigap scheme during the Open Enrollment period lasting six months from your 65th birthday.
During Open Enrollment, Loyal American must accept your Medigap application.
You get the plan you want, even if you have pre-existing health conditions.

The plan you get from Loyal American provides the same coverage for Medicare Part A & B benefits as a plan from any other insurer.
All Medigap plans offer the following benefits for Original Medicare Parts A & B.
- Part A coinsurance and hospital costs for up to 365 days after using up Medicare benefits.

If you qualify for Medicare before this date, you can still apply for a Plan F policy with Loyal American. However, the insurer might require you to undergo medical underwriting.
If underwriting reveals you have pre-existing health conditions, the insurer can charge you higher-than-average premiums for your policy or deny your application. You might qualify for guaranteed issue rights when applying for Plan F. Our team can help you understand if you are eligible for these consumer protections.
What Loyal American Medicare Supplement Plans Don't Cover
Medigap plans offer supplemental insurance for Original Medicare Part A & B benefits. They don’t cover the out-of-pocket costs associated with medical or hospital treatments and care not covered by Original Medicare Parts A & B.
So, there’s no coverage for your prescriptions. You don’t have coverage for private duty nursing or stays at unskilled nursing homes. There’s no Medigap coverage for hearing, dental, or vision services, and you don’t have coverage for cosmetic procedures or preventative treatments.
So, Medigap plans don’t cover visits to the chiropractor, podiatrist, physiotherapist, or acupuncturist. Sometimes, Medicare will cover these treatments if your doctor deems them medically necessary.
