This Supplement plan is very popular and is Mutual of Omaha’s best seller among its Medigap lineup.

Before you enroll in this plan or any other, we recommend that you read some Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G reviews.

There is a good reason why so many seniors sign up for this plan every year as opposed to one of the nine remaining Supplements.

Plan G has a lot to offer, giving seniors powerful medical benefits and peace of mind that they cannot necessarily get from the other Supplements.

We’ll tell you all about this plan, how it compares to some of your other options and what Mutual of Omaha does to make its Plan G worthwhile for seniors.

How to Enroll in Medicare Supplements

Mutual of Omaha Medicare SupplementBefore we get into our review of Plan G, we want to tell you a few quick facts abut Medicare Supplements.

These are also called Medigap plans, and they can help you by filling in coverage gaps that are left by the Original Medicare plan.

With a Supplement, you can be covered for many common out-of-pocket costs that can add up throughout the year and make healthcare hard to afford.

Medicare Supplements are available to any seniors who are 65 or older than that. Around age 65, you can sign up for the Medicare Supplement of your choice.

If you apply at that age, then you can choose any Supplement you want and be guaranteed approval.

You also get really good rates at that point, because no preexisting medical conditions can be factored into the pricing.

Those seniors who apply later on, though, may have to pay a higher rate due to their health or just because they signed up later.

If you have questions about Medicare Supplement enrollment or anything related to health insurance, then please give us a call.

We’re happy to get you the answers that you need so that you can make an informed decision.

Medicare Plan G – Benefits

Now, let’s look at this very popular Supplement plan. Thousands of seniors sign up for Medicare Supplements each year.

What makes Plan G so in-demand is that it will offer you a ton of coverage.

Seniors like that it covers them well and provides a lot of medical benefits for them.

They like that they can count on this health insurance policy to take care of the majority of their medical expenses and yet still be reasonably priced, in most instances.

You can check the prices on Mutual of Omaha’s Plan G by using our site.

It may not be the most economical choice, but for what it offers, we find it to be a good value plan, especially when you enroll in Plan G through an insurer like Mutual of Omaha that will add value to the policy.

Plan G will provide you with coverage for most expenses that are related to Medicare but not covered by the Original Medicare plan.

That includes all of your copays that you have to make each time you stay at the hospital, visit the doctor’s office or go to the emergency room.

It also includes coverage for the Medicare Part A annual deductible of $1,408.

Plan G further covers you for all nursing facility coinsurance costs and hospice coinsurance.

It will help with your foreign emergency travel costs, as well as cover all of your blood you need to use for the year (Original Medicare covers the remainder).

If you have to go outside of the Medicare network for a doctor’s office visits, then Plan G covers you for the excess charges.

It’s a really useful health insurance policy and one that consolidates your medical expenses.

If you just pay the monthly premiums on this plan and on Original Medicare, then you will have most of your medical expenses covered.

How Plan G Compares

Do you need the powerful Plan G, though? While many seniors do enroll in this after reading the positive Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G reviews, it isn’t going to be right for everyone.

Plan G is very similar to a higher coverage plan known as Supplement Plan F. With Plan F you get a bit more coverae, which takes all the benefit of Plan G and adds on coverage for the Medicare Part B annual deductible. Of course, Plan F will cost more, and it will also be limited to those people who were enrolled in Medicare before January 1st, 2020.

Anyone else will have to pick a different Supplement plan.

That’s not the only drawback to Plan F. It is also part of what is called a “closed risk pool”. Since Plan F isn’t getting many new subscribers, it is not a very profitable plan for many health insurance providers.

That means that they have to increase the rates on Plan F faster than they would on other Supplements, making it a poor value plan that decreases in value every year.

Now, compare Plan G to Supplement Plan N. This is considered the most economical Supplement, and that is because it doesn’t cover you for any unnecessary medical expenses.

It gets rid of the benefits for Medicare’s Part B’s excess charges since they are uncommon, and it gets rid of the Part B copays for emergency room care and doctor’s office visits, since those are small fees.

Like Plan G, it doesn’t cover you for the Part B annual deductible.

It’s identical to Plan G in its coverage, though, besides the few Part B changes we mentioned.

For many seniors, Plan N is the better choice, saving them more money, but you’ll have to be the judge of that, and you may want to compare how these two plans cover your common medical expenses.

Using our site can help you to compare their rates so you can get a better idea of which one is more affordable for you.

Some of them offer great deals, while others charge outrageous prices for what is essentially the same set of medical benefits.
