Are you a beneficiary of Original Medicare Parts A & B? These policies are great for helping you manage your healthcare expenses during your senior years. However, they don’t cover all your medical and hospitalization costs, leaving you with out-of-pocket expenses.
Fortunately, you can cover most of these costs with a Medicare supplement plan (Medigap). These plans come in ten different versions A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M & N. Each plan offers a varying level of coverage, with different price points for your monthly premiums.
A Medigap plan gives you better predictability of your annual healthcare expenses and peace of mind knowing you have full coverage and benefits in the event of a medical emergency. Medigap plans are available nationwide for many leading healthcare providers, with Manhattan Life being one of the top-rated insurers.
This post investigates Manhattan Life Medicare Supplement Plans. We’ll discuss the types of Medigap plans they offer, the coverage, and the premiums for all plans.

Manhattan Life offers five different Medigap plans: A, C, F, G, & N. They only cover some states, and you might not have certain plans available in your area. The company has an intuitive online platform, making it easy for members to upload their claims online and track claims progress through their dashboard. They also have a desktop and mobile online platform for all plan beneficiaries.
Who Is Manhattan Life?
Manhattan Life Insurance Company has a long history and prestigious legacy as one of America’s top life insurance companies. They started offering Medigap insurance plans to complement their original life insurance business.
Incorporated on May 29, 1850, as an upcoming life insurance company, Manhattan Life Insurance issued its first group policy in 1854 to a shipping company transporting 700 migrants to the United States.
Its reputation as a credible insurer led the company to earn the moniker “Old Reliable.” Manhattan Life also provided life insurance to Southern soldiers during the Civil War, paying out policies to the widows of fallen soldiers.
Before moving to Houston, the company originally had headquarters in the tallest building in NYC. Today, the Manhattan Life Insurance Group includes Western and Central United and Family Life. All three subsidiaries offer Medigap Plans. Contact us to see if they service your area.

What Manhattan Life Medicare Supplement Don't Cover
Medigap policies cover you for the shortfalls on inpatient and outpatient expenses not covered by Original Medicare Parts A & B. Plan A has limited coverage, but Plans F, G, and N offer complete coverage in the event of medical emergencies.

All Medigap plans don’t cover the costs of the following.
- Prescription medications.

Manhattan Life Medicare Supplement Plans – Premiums
The premiums for Medigap policies vary, depending on your age, gender, and smoking status. Men and smokers will pay more in premiums than women and nonsmokers. Your location in the United States also affects your premium costs.
Some states have more expensive premiums for the same policy than others. That’s why you need a licensed agent like us to ensure you get the best deal on your premiums in your state.
We examined the average costs of Plans A, F, G, and N premiums from Manhattan Life for a 65-year-old female nonsmoker in Houston, Texas.
*As mentioned, Plan F is only available for seniors eligible for Medicare Parts A & B before the cutoff date of January 1, 2020. If you are eligible for Medicare after this date, go with Plan G for the most comprehensive coverage in the Medigap range.
